چکیده
High surface area, self-organized nanoporous ZrO2 arrays with perfect adhesion to the Zr substrate were synthesized by anodization in an aqueous electrolyte containing (NH4)2SO4 and NH4F. The obtained semiconductor materials tested as photocatalysts for decolorization of methyl red (MR) a model azo dye pollutant. It was demonstrated that as-synthesized anodic layers are already crystalline and, therefore, do not require further thermal treatment provide high photocatalytic performance. However, efficiency could be improved annealing at relatively low-temperature 350 °C. Higher temperatures caused gradual drop activity. behavior correlated crystal phase transformation ZrO2. found higher activity observed tetragonal over monoclinic (predominant elevated temperatures). results from optimal complex electronic structure annealed three different energy states having absorption edges 2.0, 4.01 5.28 eV.

متن کاملPhotocatalytic Decolorization of Methyl Orange Solution with Phosphotungstic Acid
Photocatalytic decolorization of Methyl Orange (MO) solution has been studied using phosphotungstic acid (HPA) as photocatalyst. The decolorization reaction of MO solution is photocatalysis. The paper reveals that the optimal loading of photocatalyst for decolorization of MO solution (10 mg/L) is 0.6 g/L. The results show that the photocatalytic decolorization reaction of MO with HPA in a h...
متن کاملPhotocatalytic degradation of methyl red dye
Introduction Most dyes used in the pigmentation of textiles, paper, leather, ceramics, cosmetics, inks and food-processing products are derived from azo dyes, which are characterised by the presence of one or more azo groups (-N=N-) in their structure. Approximately 15% of the dyes produced worldwide are lost within waste water during synthesis and processing. This waste represents a great haza...
